Are you looking forward to giving a perfect ending to your Polytechnic Course? Do you belong to the category of people who are completely lost in this never-ending world of opportunities? Well, you need to stop worrying and start working because there are endless career options and opportunities you can take after the completion of your Diploma that too in a very affordable way.

What Are Polytechnic Diploma Courses

Polytechnic Diploma courses are technical degree courses which are approved and run by AICTE / All India Council for Technical Education. These are launched specifically to help students learn the basics of the respective subject choice and get familiar with its practical aspects.

How Can Further Studies Help You With Your Career?

Polytechnic is in itself a good enough technical degree but if one needs to have diversified career opportunities and wish to get high-level jobs, graduation is a must. The training and education in Polytechnic would be enough only for junior level jobs but it might not prove to be of great help when it comes to promotions or higher-level jobs.

Therefore, you should consider further studies as a necessary option in order to get an in-depth knowledge of your domain. This will make you a skilled person both at a theoretical and practical level which in turn opens up higher-level jobs.

Lateral Entry At B.Tech

Most common option after Polytechnic Diploma course is to go into technical fields like B.Tech or B.E. Candidates who are interested in doing this need to appear for various Engineering Entrance Tests. You can apply for the ones you like.

There are a number of engineering colleges which offer lateral entry to the Diploma holders. But what is a lateral entry? It simply means that you will be joining the engineering program directly in the second year. Some colleges even organize entrance tests in order to screen diploma holders and get the batch up to their requirements.

Here Are Some Of The Top Engineering Colleges Which Offer Admission To Students After Their Polytechnic Diploma

  1. Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana
  2. Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Delhi
  3. Delhi Technological University, Delhi
  4. Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi
  5. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala
  6. Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar
  7. Guru Gobind Singh IP University, Delhi
  8. Punjab University, Chandigarh
  9. Chitkara University, Chandigarh
  10. SBS College of Engineering and Technology, Ferozepur

Do The Graduation In Respective Domain

Instead of doing B.Tech or B.E., Polytechnic Diploma holders can also pursue graduation in the study domain of their own choice. These are three-year under-graduate courses like B.Sc, B.A., B.Com, and BCA. Candidates need to complete their Class 12 Board Exam or any other equivalent degree in order to be eligible in these courses.

AIME Certification

Apart from B.Tech Diploma holders can also apply for the AIME Certification Course. A.M.I.E stands for Associate Member of the Institutions of Engineers. This certification is equivalent to B.E. Degree and has a professional value. In order to become certified, one has to complete the AIME course.

The Institute of Engineering, India is the authority responsible for doing this. The AIME exam is divided into two sections and is generally completed in 4 years.

However, if you are a Polytechnic Diploma holder then you won’t require to appear some papers from Section A. This will reduce the AIME certification to just 3 years.

Job Opportunities After Polytechnica Diploma

Because of their short duration and varied career opportunities, Polytechnic Diploma courses usually termed as best career options for the ones who are in urgency of jobs. So, after their class 10, if some students are economically weaker and wish to work, Polytechnic programs come as a god in disguise.

It offers various exciting and lucrative job options and students can take whichever hey feel comfortable with. Some of them are mentioned below.

Various private sector companies, especially the ones dealing with manufacturing, construction, electronics, and communication tend to hire Polytechnic Diploma holders at the junior level. The scope of promotion or expansion is very less.
